October 28th, 2018 – Rochester, NY
After two years at 45 Euclid Street, Fuego Coffee Roasters is moving their cafe operations to a new, long-term home at 1 Woodbury Boulevard. The move will triple their seating capacity as well as allow the cafe to expand their menu to include light breakfast and lunch options alongside the coffee that has kept customers coming to their midtown cafe locations since 2013. Tuesday, October 30th will be the last day at the Euclid location, opening at 1 Woodbury Boulevard on Monday, November 5th at 7 AM. Their grand opening will take place on Friday, November 9th at 6 PM.
Long-time fans will remember that Fuego quickly outgrew a former location on Liberty Pole Way before moving to Euclid Street. Their new location, however, offers the space and infrastructure they will need to grow and thrive for years to come.
The new cafe is on the ground floor of the former Merkel Donohue building, which is now a mixed-use space featuring apartments, retail, and offices. Thanks to new neighbors like Geva Theater, the Strong Museum of Play, and Blue Cross Blue Shield, Fuego anticipates both an uptick and a diversification of their traffic. Fuego is excited to be a part of the Washington Square Park Community.
Stopping into Fuego at any time, it’s easy to see their motto, “Come for coffee, stay for community,” in practice. Staff and regulars are well-acquainted, and new guests are excitedly brought into the fold by Fuego’s small, dedicated team of baristas the moment they walk through the door.
Owners Tony and Renee Colon built their business on this sense of intimacy and community, and it was important to maintain that in their move. They’ve consistently agreed that Fuego has always been and will always be a downtown business. The new location is mere blocks from 45 Euclid Street, and they think it’s well worth the five minute walk between them for the expanded seating, menu, and amenities at 1 Woodbury Boulevard.
Fuego’s grand opening at 1 Woodbury Boulevard is open to the public. Their full drink and food menu will be available. In keeping with their 45 Euclid Street tradition of exhibiting a new artist each month, work by local artist Dellarious will be on display beginning the same day.
